Known for his integrity, commitment, and results, Peter has developed significant expertise and a comprehensive negotiation background in treaty and aboriginal rights research and advocacy, First Nations inter-governmental relations, treaty implementation, and litigation support to facilitate beneficial First Nation settlements. In his long periods of service as a director of two successful First Nation Treaty and Aboriginal Rights Research (TARR) centralized claims research units, and as principal of independent consulting firms, he has overseen the production of over 150 specific claims and the development of two leading First Nation historical archives. Peter has brought this experience and knowledge to bear when serving as lead negotiator for specific claim settlement negotiations including Treaty Land Entitlement, Agricultural Treaty Benefits, Treaty Annuity Valuation and many other claims.

In this way, Peter has been directly instrumental in the successful conclusion of specific claim and other settlements involving over $2 Billion in restitution, revenues and land to client First Nations across various provinces. In addition to financial settlements, Peter has also negotiated natural resource consultation, parks, wildlife, land use planning and other collaborative management agreements, government to government protocol agreements, natural resource revenue sharing agreements, natural resource development impact/mitigation agreements, and many others all on behalf of First Nations.

Peter’s community service has included, among others, more than two decades as a volunteer with the BCSPCA including 17 years on the board of directors (now retired).
